On individual beat pages, a list of users on that beat.

This will make more sense as more users use the site -- an easy way to find the people who update most often on the "education" beat, for example.

    Status: under review

Hey, this is popular. It will probably be either Recent or Frequent users of the beat.

    allow unthreaded comments on answers

I'd like to be able to comment on answers without cluttering things up by posting a non-answer as an answer.

See StackOverflow.com/ServerFault.com for a good example of how this can add to a site like this.

    auto follow your own questions

When asking a question, it should automatically be added to your followed questions list.

    E-mail notifications for certain events

Basic ideas for notification cues: A new answer on my question, being watched by someone new, an @username mention in a question or answer.

    Status: started

In progress. There's a notification for every new answer to your questions. We'll have to add controls on the edit profile page to allow users to modify their notification settings, and think about what other notifications make sense.

Post your update to Twitter, too.

Would you rather this be a checkbox on every update, or would you just choose on a settings page to post every update to Twitter?

    More geographic data on updates

So there's a key decision to be made here: Would you rather set a location for each update, or should all your updates be related to the location you provide in your profile? It seems elaborate to add a location for each update, so I'm prone to just improve the location/country models in your pr... more

    An "answer question" button

Its not immediately apparent that clicking on the question will take you to the form to answer it. I almost wanted a button next to "good question" that read "answer question"

    Display answers as threaded comments

Interested in this? I think I voted this down during development because I'm not a fan of threaded comments as a user/reader, but what do you think?

If you turn off JavaScript, clicking "Good Question" sends you into the JSON wilderness.

Just because I have to see how a site works with JS turned off...

The "good question" link goes to a JSON file, which I assume is powering the AJAXy rating system. Probably not too big an issue, since most people don't go turning off javascript, but maybe something to look at.

    Improved location information in profiles

There are some bells and whistles built into the profile app that I have turned off right now until I can test them out on the dev site a bit more. For example, a Google Map to choose your location. I should probably look into the geoDjango implementation in Django 1.0 to figure out if there's ... more

Note that my previous comment was related to version 1.0.

A leaderboard of users with the most good answers

Might be taking the site a step too far into gameable-land, but a leaderboard of the folks with the most "good answers" would be useful for discovering the folks who have the generally good advice to give for those that might want to seek them out in an off-site arena.
